Greetings to all our friends and clients in the United States and throughout the world,
A few days ago we joined with our Japanese friends in a day of prayer for the “Peace of Jerusalem”. The event took place on Sunday, October 4, 2020, in Tokyo, and we were really moved by their love and devotion for the people and the Land of Israel. The particular group from a Church in Tokyo has sent a large group to Israel every year for the past 28 years, and this year they were to have arrived on the last day of October, but they held on for as long as possible before cancelling, believing that God was able to deal with the corona virus. We also believe that God is able to do so but it will be in His time, not in ours.
Already eight months have passed since we were forced to temporarily close our office in Nes Ziona in order to conform with the lockdown instructions of the Israeli government. This happened on March 15, 2020, and at first we thought that the corona virus pandemic would soon be halted and a vaccine be found to deal with it. Now after more than eight months we have come to realize that this is a plague of biblical proportions and it may take quite some time before we can get back to the situation as it was before that date. The first wave of the disease seemed to have been overcome and we returned to some state of optimism, and the government started to ease the restrictions. This proved to be a wrong decision because the second wave of the disease came with such force, and the number of people infected increased to such an extent that a second lockdown has had to be enforced which will last for at least one month or until the restrictions take effect. We are now in the midst of this lockdown which will be in force at least until the 14. October when the effects will be evaluated. From the point of view of tourism it is obvious that the year 2020 is lost to us but we have high hopes for the year 2021 and 2022. Please remember our faithful office staff in your prayers, and our guides and drivers, most of whom have been unemployed for all that time and having to live on a very limited income.
