There have been several attempted or short-lived reopenings of Israel’s tourism since March of 2020 when it first closed for what we thought would be just a few weeks. This past November we even were able to welcome our first two tours in over 20 months, only to be closed down once again.
While COVID-19’s latest variant known as Omicron continues to spread, the Israeli government has decided to allow foreign visitors once again beginning January 9, 2022.
We are encouraged by this news and hope you will be as well. The rules regarding vaccination that was in effect prior to the closing of the borders will remain in place. You can see these requirements listed on our COVID-19 travel information page.
As a reminder, the current requirements for those tourists allowed entry into Israel are as follows:
ALL participants are required to be fully vaccinated by approved WHO vaccines and the last vaccination shot or booster shot (taken at least 14 days prior to your arrival) was given less than 180 days prior to your departure date from Israel.
- You will be required to take a PCR test 72 hours prior to arrival
- Fill in the health declaration form and upload the vaccination certificate 48 hours prior to your arrival in Israel
- All tour members will need to purchase an insurance policy that explicitly covers medical treatment for contracting COVID-19.
- Another PCR test will be done upon arrival at Ben Gurion Airport.
- Another PCR test might be required 72 hours prior to your departure – THIS DEPENDS on the requirements of the country you are traveling to from Israel and the airline you are traveling with.
We know that things are still not how we all would hope they would be. We wish there was never any COVID or need for vaccines and shutdowns at all! Alas, we must work within the framework provided to us by the Israeli government and will continue to do so.
Immanuel Tours continues to appreciate the prayers and support that our friends from around the world. We hope and pray that this is truly the end of this horrible period of time.
We continue to encourage you to plan for 2022 and 2023 as we predict as things reopen and restrictions loosen, availability will decrease and pricing will increase. Immanuel Tours continues with our commitment to not requiring any money down until 120 days prior to your tour.
If you would like to plan a tour, please contact one of our tours operators for your complimentary, no-commitment proposal!
